Foundation 4Life® Responds to Philippines Disaster

Salt Lake City, Utah (September 29, 2009) Responding to the recent devastation caused by Tropical Storm Ketsana in the Philippines, 4Life initiated a corporate relief effort with an emergency first-response donation of $10,000 to aid 4Life family members in desperate need of assistance. Additional donations are being accepted by Foundation 4Life, a non-profit service branch of the company, from worldwide 4Life employees and distributors.
“Victims of this calamity need all the help we can provide,” stated 4Life President Steve Tew. “Our offices in the region are working to raise money, provide clothing, and assist on a more local level, but we would welcome additional support from everyone who is able to make a financial contribution.”
Now reported as the worst natural disaster to hit the Philippines in 42 years, Tropical Storm Ketsana dropped more than a month’s worth of rainfall in just 12 hours on the capital region of Manila and surrounding provinces (more than twice the amount of rain recorded during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans). Severe flooding and deadly landslides have now displaced nearly 500,000 residents and killed at least 140 people.
“Many of our own 4Life employees and distributors have lost their homes and cars, and all of their belongings. A number of them are literally going to be starting from scratch,” continued Tew. “We are committed to helping these people as quickly as possible. Together, with our global network of distributors, we will continue to increase our support as the full-impact of this disaster continues to unfold.”
